Running Scared x Gyakusou Event Pictures
Nike and Jun Takahashi, founder and head designer of Japan’s coveted clothing label Undercover, proudly launched the first Nike x Undercover Gyakusou performance running collection at Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer on Sunday 10.31.10. In celebration of the launch and in good ol’ spooky Halloween spirit, the NYC Bridge Runners hosted the first ever “Running Scared”, a 3.1 mile haunted run which kicked off at Bowery Stadium and commenced at 21 Mercer for the launch event. Through dark alley ways and quiet streets, the Bridge Runners dodged real New York City rats, stopped traffic and made kids clutch their candy all while making their way to Mercer. There, they were given a preview on the collection which fuses cutting edge Nike running innovations and design with the functionality of Takahashi’s Undercover. Tomorrow at McCarren Park : Dead Man
I’d heard of this movie before, but I don’t know why I haven’t seen it yet. It reminds me of one of my favorite LEVI’S ADs from the 90s. It look like at the very least it will be a cool LOOKING movie. See ya at sundown.

The Blind Barber «

I first stumbled (literally) onto this place the night of the Vice Photo Show. It was housing the after party to the opening. At first I thought it was just some over excited interior designer making a bar look like a barber shop, but it wasn’t til now the pieces started all making sense. I saw the video above, featuring Gogy Esparza, a barber at The Blind Barber, and remembered meeting Gogy at Bar 169 a while back on a hazy Thursday outing. Being the friendly guy he is, he sat with the lone drunk (me) and told me about his craft and gave me his number if I ever needed a cut. I’ve only recently been introduced to the luxuries of having a proper clean up at a barber shop, but Gogy, you may be seeing me soon for a drink and a trim.
