Running Scared x Gyakusou Event Pictures
Nike and Jun Takahashi, founder and head designer of Japan’s coveted clothing label Undercover, proudly launched the first Nike x Undercover Gyakusou performance running collection at Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer on Sunday 10.31.10. In celebration of the launch and in good ol’ spooky Halloween spirit, the NYC Bridge Runners hosted the first ever “Running Scared”, a 3.1 mile haunted run which kicked off at Bowery Stadium and commenced at 21 Mercer for the launch event. Through dark alley ways and quiet streets, the Bridge Runners dodged real New York City rats, stopped traffic and made kids clutch their candy all while making their way to Mercer. There, they were given a preview on the collection which fuses cutting edge Nike running innovations and design with the functionality of Takahashi’s Undercover. NIKE SPORTSWEAR STICKBALL TOURNAMENT
This past Sunday Nike kept it real and threw a Stickball Tournament over at the 21 Mercer shop. Participants included cool cats Vashtie, Futura, Heron, and Brandee Brown to name a few. With Q-tip spinnin some stay chill tunes and the sun shining on a cool day, lets hope they make this a Mercer tradition. Check out more pix over at Vashtie’s blog.

NYC BridgeRunners ‘We Run New York’ Collection
New Bridge Runner tees and hoodies are being released tomorrow, Thursday Oct. 15th, over at 21 Mercer in Soho. Designed and created by the NYC Bridge Runners, the new colletion was customized using the iconic Nike Sportswear AW77 hoodie and NSW tee. Start the running season off right, make sure to scoop up your gear and rep the Bridge Runners crew while covering some ground.
